Shelley and her husband Bob Sikora have enjoyed a notable presence in the food industry, with the operation of Bobby McGee's, a one-time chain of 24 restaurants located in the United Sates and Australia. Among many if their successful concepts is "Juice Works" a smoothie franchise they eventually sold to TCBY. Both currently own and operate the original Bobby McGee's, a full service restaurant in Phoenix, Arizona, and where you will find Shelley in her chef's coat working on new recipes by day, and greeting many Phoenix customers by night.
Shelley Sikora is a second generation Sicilian who learned how to prepare special Italian dishes that had been passed down in her family for generations. An Italian Affair is a tribute to her mother, who was a professional chef and baker specializing in desserts and pastries. With this book Shelley intends to combine the traditional Italian elements of cooking with the regional characteristics of Sicily combines with the simplicity and speed for today's home chef.
An Italian Affair is Shelley Sikora's first published piece and was released in January 2003. She plans to follow with more projects, books and private cooking classes along with her long time friend and fellow chef, Hallie Harron. The authenticity and merit that Shelley expresses through the cooking of these family recipes will undoubted bring a new level of excitement of cooking at home.
