Houston, TX – October 07, 2002 -- Experience the Essence that Makes Texas Hot. Houston's top chefs battle Dallas's top chefs for the hottest city in the state. The Iron-Tex-Chef Arena will host this exciting event using similarities to Food TV's Iron Chef. All products used will be an official Texas product. The main meat? The vegetables? No one knows! Food critics, celebrities and politician will taste and vote for The Hottest City in Texas.
With the sounds of Texas being played and the fans of Texas's tow largest cities cheering, the new Reliant Center will come alive with the aroma of classic meals. Ongoing events include live cooking demonstrations featuring Fried Turkeys, Crawfish Boils and Hot Grilling. Live music from Mariachi Bands, Country and Western, Zydeco, R&B and dancing will entertain the crowd.
The festival will feature "Go Texan", the products of Texas and the Texas Department of Agriculture. A Fresh Farmers Market Center will offer the freshest products of Texas. This is a promotional opportunity for the merchants who qualified with the department as having products that are Texas Grown, Produced and Manufactured. Set in a market style atmosphere, this Festival is All About Texas and More.
