COOKING AND WINE IN PROVENCE PROGRAM DEBUTS IN 2003

French Wine Explorers, an American wine tour company, is pleased to offer a new culinary program called Cooking & Wine in Provence. The first of these programs will be held April 23-29, 2003. The 7 day, 6 night program takes place at the Mas d'Alleyrac, a beautifully-restored, 16th century Provençal home in the Southern Rhône Valley, 40 minutes north of Avignon. The program includes four hands-on cooking classes, wine tasting instruction, and winery excursions to Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Tavel, Côtes du Rhône and other well-known appellations. Classes are held in the professional kitchen/classroom at Mas, and accommodations are in five lovely guestrooms, each with private bath.

Instructors for the program are Tamara Milstein, internationally-known chef and cooking teacher; Jean-Marc Larrue, owner/chef of Jardin de la Tour restaurant in Avignon; and Lauriann Greene and Jean-Pierre Sollin, sommeliers. All instructors live and work in Provence.

In addition to the wine and food activities, guests will enjoy antiquing at famous Isle sur la Sorgue flea market, visiting a cheese farm, shopping in colorful open-air markets, and strolling through ancient villages with Roman ruins. Lunches and dinners at fine local restaurants are included in addition to the meals prepared together in class.

Included in the price of US$2995.00 per person, double occupancy are: tuition, deluxe, air conditioned minibus transportation (including transfers from Avignon), 6 nights accommodations with private bath at the Mas, a buffet breakfast each day, all wine tasting and sightseeing, 6 gourmet and 3 gourmet lunches with regional wines. The April 2003 program is limited to 10 guests. For groups of 8-10 guests, we are happy to offer Cooking & Wine in Provence as a private program on the dates of your choice.
