The Accidental Chef now offers private cooking classes
March 14, 2004--The cooking class boom has definitely settled in Richmond. Cooking classes continue to sell out as more public cooking schools open within the area. "The Accidental Chef" has taken culinary instruction to another level as it now offers personalized culinary instruction, cooking parties and wine dinners within a client's home. Oftentimes, it is difficult to coordinate with a commerical cooking school when planning a cooking class/party for a wedding shower, birthday or corporate training event. As many of these schools are booked well in advance, and have their own class itineraries to consider, logistics alone can be an issue. The idea behind The Accidental Chef is to offer private culinary instruction within a client's own home, giving the customer the option to design his or her own cooking party based on their own specific needs.
Clients can choose from an array of pre-planned menus or design their own menu or party theme from scratch. For those who do not have the facitilies to host a cooking party within their home, usage of an off-site, state of the art facility can be arranged. Classes can be full participation (hands-on) or demonstration. This service is also designed for groups of 2 up to 30. The Accidental Chef is the brainchild of Kendra Bailey Morris, who currently serves as a food critic for Style Weekly magazine and teaches cooking classes for Sur La Table and Williams-Sonoma.
Classes are offered in the Richmond, Charlottesville and outlining areas. Pricing is on a per person basis and includes food, recipe packets, travel considerations and all instruction. Classes start at $45 per person and are based on the number of people, type of instruction, location and food costs. Special rates for groups of 20 or more can be arranged. For one-on-one private instruction, hourly rates apply.
The Accidental Chef is willing to travel.
