Shanghai P&S Electronics Selects Oki's CTstage® 4i for its Call Center System
Tokyo, Japan, March 17, 2004 -- Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TSE: 6703) today announced that Shanghai P&S Electronics Co., Ltd., a major electronic component sales company in China, has selected Oki's CTI (computer telephony integration) server, CTstage® 4i for .NET (Chinese version), for its call center system. This system was installed at Wuhan P&S Information Technology Service Co., Ltd., a sales and support subsidiary of Shanghai P&S, and will begin full operations on March 15, 2004. Through the introduction of this advanced call center system, Shanghai P&S aims to enhance customer satisfaction significantly.
"The deployment of CTstage by Shanghai P&S is an example of our industry-leading CTI system's effective response to client requirements for improved customer service and greater business efficiency," said Masashi Tsuboi, President of the Multimedia Messaging Company at Oki Electric. "The CTstage system provides all of the functions customers need for their advanced call centers. Our aim is now to expand sales of this product in the promising Chinese market."
CTstage 4i for .NET is a highly cost-effective CTI system that runs on a Windows®-based PC server. While the CTstage 4i-based call center system introduced at Wuhan accommodates 48 seats, Shanghai P&S plans to increase the deployment of systems to other areas, eventually incorporating a 100-seat call center. OKI Software Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oki Electric, provides production, sales, and support for CTstage in the Chinese market.
Shanghai P&S is a major electronic component sales company in China, selling a variety of ICs and providing solutions and support, under a customer-oriented approach. The company has actively introduced the most advanced systems in order to provide the most appropriate solutions and services to meet each customer's requirements. The selection of CTstage 4i by Shanghai P&S is aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction by bolstering call-handling capability, in recognition of the company's more than 80,000 registered customers worldwide and its predominantly telephone-based sales activities.
CTstage 4i will be closely linked with Shanghai P&S's various internal databases. The system will be used to offer product information, order and shipment information, and to respond to customer technical support inquiries, in addition to the provision of product information via fax and telemarketing activities. Through the introduction of Oki's CTstage 4i, Shanghai P&S is working to improve the quality of its customer service, expand sales, increase business efficiency, and more readily disseminate internal information.
Demand for the CTI system is rapidly growing in China, not only in the telecommunications, financial, securities, and electric power industries but also in small to medium-sized companies seeking to improve customer service and business efficiency. Oki intends to expand the sales of call center systems based on the CTstage 4i in the growing Chinese market, as it enhances the customer support structures of each client company.
