Smartrigger Introduces New Electronic Cymbal Trigger

January 16 2004--The CYT-1 mounts on the cymbal stand, NOT the cymbal, allowing any striking surface to be used as a cymbal trigger. This includes acoustic cymbals, practice cymbals, other manufacturer's ecymbals, plates, and even trash can lids! You can use the Smartrigger CYT-1 on your crash, ride, splash, china, and hi-hat cymbals.

SMARTRIGGER BENEFITS

* ELECTRONIC TRIGGERING USING ACOUSTIC CYMBALS – Smartrigger's patent pending technology is the only way to accurately and reliably use electronic drum modules with real acoustic cymbals.

* NATURAL FEEL - because the CYT-1 mounts directly on the cymbal stand, the cymbal is free to rotate, swing, and play naturally!

* EVEN TRIGGER RESPONSE – mounting the trigger sensor at the center of the cymbal rather than somewhere on the bow allows even triggering anywhere around the cymbal's surface.

* IMPROVED RELIABILITY – Ever have surface mounted triggers pull off your ecymbal in the middle of a gig? The CYT-1 is mounted on the cymbal stand and connected to your drum module via a 1/4" patch cable. The cable is not connected to the cymbal so it can't pull off during a performance.

* SINGLE INPUT RIDE CYMBAL – using the CYT-1 with an "X" sound on a Roland™ drum module allows you to use one input for both bell and edge ride sounds. Because the trigger is center mounted, hitting the bell of the ride cymbal produces a louder hit than an edge hit, producing the bell sound at the bell of the cymbal for more natural playing.

* QUICK SETUP and TEARDOWN – CYT-1 triggers are mounted on the stand and stay there. You never have to disconnection your cymbals. Just pop your cymbals off the stands and store them in standard cymbal bags taking up a fraction of the storage space compared to surface mounted cymbal triggers.
