Master Furniture Craftsman Finds New Use For Bleacher Lumber.

Mesa, AZ December 16 2003--The Workshops of Raymond Perron have found a new use for old worn out bleacher wood. Raymond Perron, a master woodworker and corporate owner of The Workshops of Raymond Perron is building and offering for sale antique reproduction distressed furniture from old bleacher wood.

"Each of these pieces is one-of-a-kind" states Perron. "Old gymnasium bleacher lumber is a rare item. There are very few salvaged original growth bleacher boards remaining in captivity."

To prepare the old bleacher lumber Perron removes a small amount of the finish from each side by running the board through a planer. This removes all the layers of nasty varnish and other polymers which were applied to protect the seats. After planing Perron is left with a 1" thick board that is seasoned to perfection.

All The Workshops of Raymond Perron paints are based on the colors seen in the Williamsburg, VA. Historical village. Great old colors which are slightly faded and rich in patina. "We try to distress the finish as if it were many years old. Every piece is unique since the distressing is impossible to duplicate. We take care and time to prepare the final finish. ", says Perron. "Each piece is a treasure to be handed down to children and grandchildren with love and value. Perron hopes you enjoy each piece as much as has enjoyed creating it.
